ArmorShield Shrink Film

ArmorShield ShrinkFilm is a modern thermoplastic film formulated with both linear and low-density heat-sensitive resins. When heat treated, it shrinks up to 25% of its surface dimension.

ArmorShield ShrinkFilm is manufactured to our exacting specifications with 100% virgin resins and fractional-melt low-density polyethylene (LLPDE) which results in uniform bi-axial shrinking and super strength. All ArmorShield films (blue, white, and clear) contain maximum ultra-violet inhibitors (UVI) for long-lasting outdoor film life.

Balanced Film Shrinking

The most uniform bi-axial (simultaneous machine and transverse direction) shrinking is obtained with the lowest possible melt index (MI). The base resin used in ArmorShield has an MI of 0.25, close to the very bottom of the Melt Index scale.

Long Film Life

The UVI in ArmorShield ShrinkFilm is a hindered amine which protects against film deterioration by the sun and is superior to benzophenone type UVI used by most film manufacturers. The hindered amine achieves its protective qualities by remaining within the molecular structure of the film. The benzophenone type of UVI migrates to the surface of the film (a phenomenon called "blooming") and the sun's rays rapidly deplete its effectiveness.

Strength and Durability

In addition to fractional melt and low-density polyethylenes, our film also contains ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA). Shrink films that contain EVA retain elasticity and do not become brittle or crack in extremely low temperatures. They have increased puncture resistance and burn holes will not propagate. Films containing EVA will not split easily in the machine direction when shipped by the wind.
